Encounter Night is a weekly gathering at Calvary Lawrence centered on the presence of God and the transforming work of the Holy Spirit.
We believe church should be more than something you attend. We want to create space to genuinely seek God, worship Jesus, hear His Word, pray for one another, and respond to what the Holy Spirit is doing.
Whether you've followed Jesus for years, haven't been to church in a long time, or are simply curious about God, you're welcome here.
What Can I Expect?
Each Encounter Night includes worship, Scripture, prayer, and an opportunity to respond to Jesus. We make room for the Holy Spirit to work through prayer, spiritual gifts, healing ministry, testimony, and personal ministry, always seeking to operate with biblical order, humility, and love.
There is no pressure to participate in anything. You're welcome to receive prayer, worship with us, or simply come and see.
Come As You Are
You don't need to dress a certain way or have your life figured out before you come.
Bring your questions. Bring your struggles. Bring a friend.
Just come expecting God to meet you.

What About Kids?
Kids are welcome at Calvary. Our goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, Jesus-centered environment where children can learn about God while parents participate in the gathering.
If this is your family's first visit, arrive a few minutes early so our team can help you get oriented and settled.

We believe an encounter with God is meant to change us.
As we behold the Lord, the Holy Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ so that our lives increasingly reflect Him to the world.
"And we all... are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit."
